Subscription and Membership Terms

Part A. The Box subscription

1. What you are signing up for

A Box subscription is a recurring order of the box you pick, at the size you pick (6, 12, 18, or 24 cookies; Regular or Gluten Friendly), delivered on the schedule you pick. It is the same Box you can buy once, at a lower price, with free shipping, on repeat.

The six-cookie minimum. The smallest box is six. You can move between 6, 12, 18, and 24 any time by emailing us; there is no size under six.

Flavors. Each box is our pick unless you tell us otherwise. To swap flavors, use the swap form in Subscriber HQ (insideoutcookie.com/pages/subscriber-hq) or email info@insideoutcookie.com. A swap is done by hand, applies to your next box that has not yet been charged, and keeps the box at its current size.

Premium flavors. A few flavors are premium and carry an add-on price on one-time boxes. On a subscription, premium flavors ride along at no extra charge, on every box, for as long as you subscribe. You see the add-on price in the box builder and in your cart before you pay for a one-time box. If we ever start charging for premium flavors on subscriptions, we will email you at least 30 days before it applies, and you can cancel before then.

2. Automatic renewal: read this part

By starting a subscription you agree that:

• We will charge the payment method you gave us, automatically, for each box, on each renewal date, until you cancel.
• The amount is the subscription price shown for your box size when you subscribed, plus applicable sales tax. Shipping is free.
• The first charge happens when you check out. Each later charge happens on the renewal date for your schedule, counted from your first order or from the date you moved it to in your account.
• The subscription has no fixed term and no minimum number of boxes. It just keeps going until you stop it.

This disclosure also appears next to the subscribe option on the Box product page, in the box builder, in the cart, and on the Subscribe page, and checkout asks you to agree to the future charges before you pay. After you subscribe, your order confirmation email repeats these renewal terms and how to cancel, so you have a copy to keep.

3. We email you before every charge

Our subscriptions run on Shopify Subscriptions, which emails you 3 days before each renewal charge. The email has a Manage your subscription link, so you can skip that box, pause, cancel, or update your card before you are charged. Keep your email address current in your account so it reaches you. If that email does not reach you, the charge still happens on schedule, and section 8 says what we do about it.

Once a year we also email every subscriber a plain reminder of what they are signed up for, what it costs and how often, and how to cancel.

4. How to cancel (and skip, pause, or change)

Cancelling is a few clicks and no phone call.

1. Log in at insideoutcookie.com/account (or the "Manage my subscription" button in Subscriber HQ).
2. Open Subscriptions and choose your subscription.
3. Choose Cancel, then confirm.

That is it. You get a confirmation email. If you would rather, email info@insideoutcookie.com with "cancel" in the subject and we will cancel it for you the same business day and confirm by email. We will never ask you to call, chat, or explain why, and we will never put an offer between you and the cancel button.

In the same place you can also:

• Skip the next box (you are not charged for it; the one after arrives on schedule)
• Pause for as long as you like, and resume when you want cookies again
• Update your card or shipping address

Size and schedule are not in the account. To change your box size or how often cookies come, email info@insideoutcookie.com or use the swap form in Subscriber HQ (insideoutcookie.com/pages/subscriber-hq). We do it by hand and confirm by email.

When a change takes effect. Any cancel, skip, pause, or change made before a renewal date applies to that renewal. A change made after a charge has gone through applies to the next one; the box already charged ships as ordered.

5. Price changes

If we raise the price of your box, we email you 10 to 30 days before the first renewal at the new price, with the new price and how to cancel. You can cancel before then and pay nothing more. If a charge at the new price goes through and you did not want it, email us within 14 days of that charge: if the box has not shipped, we refund it in full. We do not raise prices mid-cycle, and a price decrease applies to your next renewal automatically.

6. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that affects your subscription (anything about billing, cancellation, or what you get), we email you 10 to 30 days before it takes effect, with a link to cancel. Continuing past that date accepts the change.

7. Failed payments

If a renewal charge fails, Shopify Subscriptions retries it on a set schedule. You can update your card in your account at any time. If every retry fails, the subscription pauses, and no box ships until you update your payment method and resume it. We never send a box we have not been paid for and then bill you for it.

8. Refunds on subscription charges

A renewal charge is a real order once it goes through, and the cookies get baked. Our Refund Policy applies: no returns on food, full remedy for a damaged, melted, or wrong box. If you were charged for a box you did not want because a cancel or skip did not take in time, or because a reminder email did not reach you, email us as soon as you see the charge. If it has not shipped we refund it in full, and if it has we will make it right. A charge caused by a mistake on our side is always refunded.

9. Free shipping on subscriptions

Every subscription box ships free, first box and every renewal, everywhere we ship, for as long as you keep the subscription. This is applied automatically at checkout and on every renewal. If a renewal ever shows a shipping charge, that is a mistake; tell us and we refund it.

10. Discount codes and rewards on subscriptions

A promotional code applied at signup applies to the first box only unless the code says otherwise. Loyalty and referral rewards can be used on one-time orders; whether they apply to subscription renewals depends on the reward, and the reward will say. Subscription pricing does not stack with House Account member pricing (Part B) on the same box.

11. Gifting a subscription

You can ship a subscription to someone else by putting their address on it and your email on the account. You are the subscriber: you get the reminders, you are charged, and only you can cancel. The recipient gets the cookies, plus any gift note you add. Tell us in the order note if it is a gift and we will leave the prices off the packing slip.

12. Your account

You need a customer account to manage a subscription online. Accounts are free and are created at checkout. If you lose access, email us and we will help you back in.

Part B. The House Account

13. What the House Account is

The House Account is our paid membership. It comes in two plans:

Member price. Members get 15% off one-time boxes while signed in. It applies to one-time boxes only. It does not stack with the subscription price on a Box subscription, and you cannot use both on the same order. You have to be logged in for it to show up.

First access to new flavors. New flavors go to members before they go on general sale. The early-access window is however long we decide it is for that flavor, and then the flavor goes to everyone.

Benefits are personal to you, cannot be shared, resold, or transferred, and have no cash value. The House Account is not a cookie subscription by itself, except for the Pro plan's monthly 18 cookies, which is part of what the Pro price buys.

14. Membership auto-renewal disclosure

By joining, you agree that we will charge your payment method the plan price at signup and again automatically at the end of every term, at the then-current price, until you cancel. Pro renews every month. Access renews every year.

We email you before every charge. Memberships run on Shopify Subscriptions too, so every renewal, monthly or annual, gets the same reminder email 3 days before the charge, with a Manage your subscription link where you can cancel.

Access gets an earlier notice too. Because Access renews once a year, we also email Access members 15 to 45 days before each yearly renewal with the renewal date, the amount, and a link to cancel. And once a year every member gets the same plain reminder subscribers get (section 3).

15. Cancelling a membership

Log in, open Subscriptions (memberships live there too), choose the membership, choose Cancel. Or email info@insideoutcookie.com with "cancel membership". Cancelling stops the next renewal; your benefits continue until the end of the term you already paid for. No call, no chat, no reason required. Both plans cancel the same way.

16. Membership refunds

Membership fees are not refundable once the term has started, except: if you cancel within 14 days of first joining and have not yet used a benefit, we refund in full; if we end the program or remove a benefit you paid for, we refund the unused part of your term; and where a state's law gives you a refund right, we honor it.

17. Price and benefit changes

We email you 10 to 30 days before a price increase or a change to benefits takes effect at your next renewal, with a cancel link. You are never charged a new price without that notice. If a renewal at a new price goes through and you did not want it, email us within 14 days of that charge and we refund the unused part of the term.

18. Gifting a membership

A House Account is bought for the person who will use it, and it is tied to that person's account. If you want to give one, email info@insideoutcookie.com and we will set it up so nothing auto-renews on the recipient until they add their own payment method and turn renewal on.

19. Ending the program

If we discontinue a plan, we tell members at least 30 days ahead, stop renewals, and refund the unused portion of any prepaid term.

Part C. For both

• These terms sit under our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, and Shipping Policy; if they conflict, this page wins for anything about billing, renewal, and cancellation.
• Billing runs through Shopify Subscriptions and Shopify Payments; card details are stored by Shopify, never by us.
