What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file your browser keeps so a website can remember you between pages (your cart, your login) or recognize you when you come back. A pixel or tag is a bit of code on a page that tells another company you were here. We use both.
The three kinds we use
Necessary. Always on. Checkout, cart, login, security, fraud prevention, remembering your cookie choices. Set by Shopify, Shop Pay, and hCaptcha. The site does not work without them.
Analytics. Tell us how the site is used so we can fix what is broken. Shopify analytics and Google Analytics (through a Google tag we add and through Google's Shopify app). Our own Google tag does not load at all until analytics is allowed. They collect pages viewed, time on page, device type, and a random visitor id; they do not tell us your name.
Advertising. Let us show ads to people who visited, measure whether an ad led to an order, and find people like our customers. The Meta pixel (Facebook and Instagram), the Google Ads tag, and the Pinterest tag. These share browsing and purchase events with those companies, which some laws call a "sale" or "sharing."
Our review app (Yotpo) runs a tag that follows your analytics and advertising choices. A few apps load on every page for every visitor, whatever you choose in the banner, because they run parts of the page: Loloyal (rewards), Pop Convert (pop-ups), Instafeed (our Instagram feed), and Elfsight (site widgets). ReferrLy, a referral app, also runs its tracking pixel for every visitor. The Privacy Policy says what each one sees.
Your choices
- In the EU, UK, Switzerland, and other regions where the law requires consent: you see a banner on your first visit, and the analytics and advertising tags stay off until you choose. Change your mind any time through the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.
- In the US: you see the banner too. Analytics and advertising cookies run unless you choose Decline; once you decline, they stop, including our own Google tag. Opt out of advertising cookies at any time through the "Do not sell or share my personal information" link in the footer, or through the Meta, Google, and Pinterest settings pages listed in the Privacy Policy.
- Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends the GPC signal, we treat it as an opt-out of advertising cookies and data sharing wherever that right applies. No click needed, and the privacy line in the footer says it was honored.
- Your browser: you can block or delete cookies in its settings. Blocking all cookies breaks checkout.
